**SETTING YOUR GOALS RIGHT**

Define the time frame. It’s better to start with short-term goals - from 3 to 10 weeks. Start with shorter periods of 3 weeks and gradually extend them.

Identify 3 key goals for the immediate future, one in each category:
self-improvement (physical / intellectual / emotional)
career / business (professional / financial achievements)
relationships (friends / family)

A goal is an experiment in a way, a mini-project, upon finishing which you’ll be able to draw conclusions and find out whether you’re moving in the right direction and adjust your further path.

3) Choose a present or a bonus which you’ll get after achieving a goal. This can be both the benefit from achieving the goal and a present you’ll give yourself after carrying out the plan. For example, ‘I’ll be going on vacation’, or ‘I’ll find out whether I should go on with this idea’.

4) Break down your goal. Set 3-7 big steps that you should take to achieve the goal.

For example, if your goal is ‘attract first 100 customers’, the steps could be:
Outline the strategy of attracting customers
Set up ads and prepare promotion materials
Set up tools for analytics
Perform promotion activities
Analyse the results

5) Plan tasks for the upcoming week and mark scheduled events and meetings.

6) Plan your day. Try to put 1-2 big tasks at the beginning of the day, followed by less important tasks.

7) Review the daily results and praise yourself.

8) Review the weekly results. Did you make progress? What did you learn? What can you do better next week?

9) Sum up the results. What did you manage to achieve? What difficulties did you have and why? What can you do better in the future? Who was valuable in the process? What resources will you need for your next goal?
